There will no longer be a requirement for an MOU with the Province and no further direct cost recovery from East Hants for two RCMP administrative support positions. Estimated savings per year is $150,000. There will also be billing model changes coming that will move away from per officer cost model. Changes take effect October 2026. More information will be shared as it is known.

The regional training facility project had an approved project budget (in the form of a grant) of $235,000. The project has closed with $4,903 remaining from the initial budget. Noel and District Volunteer Fire Department intends to add a concrete pad to support containing and cleaning of materials during training. This concrete pad was not part of the project. Noel Fire is requesting to utilize the remaining project funding with their department contributing the remaining funding.
