This warning letter was issued as a result of a failed fish test for the Lantz Lagoon in April. This is part of quality testing for water leaving the wastewater treatment plant that serves the communities of Enfield, Elmsdale and Lantz. Upon review of the follow-up procedures, Environment Canada staff noted that the contact information for the Municipality was incorrect in the federal system and it is the municipality’s responsibility to keep the information current. Both the quality event and the contact information are being worked on to be corrected. In response to improving and maintaining quality ongoing, the desludging of the Lantz Lagoon site started on July 21st, 2025 under the direction of municipal staff and industry experts.
