Corporate & Residential Services Committee asked staff to come back with more information regarding the elimination of the 1/3 tax exemption in 2019 and lobby efforts at that time. This report provides more background details for Council consideration. No recommendation from staff.

Letter from Harold MacNeil, President EHCA (East Hants Curling Association) requesting that funding for a dedicated curling facility be part of the budget process for 2026, so that when the Recreation Facilities Master Plan Survey results are released, the funding is in place and the project is able to proceed.

The request from Luke Guthro on behalf of the Enfield Vol. Fire Department asking to make a presentation to Committee/Council to ask Council to consider taking over the fire department property for the purpose of obtaining grant funding to build a new fire station was first considered by Council in September. Council decided to defer making a decision on hearing a presentation until the review from the Fire Service Association of NS was completed. As the FSANS report has been released, Council should consider the request to present. Council also directed staff to come back with a summary report on the FSANS report, which is expected to be done in January 2026.
