East Hants Public Transit Service

The Municipality of East Hants is looking into starting a scheduled transit bus service to make getting around communities easier for residents, workers, students, and visitors.

Following the most recent business plan update for Transit, Municipal Council voted to ask the community for input on the proposed bus routes. We want to share details on where the bus would go, how much the service would cost, and what benefits it could bring to our local economy and environment. Most importantly, we want to hear your feedback on how a bus service could work best for you and where you need transit service the most.

Proposed Pilot Route

The first pilot route is proposed to connect the communities of Lantz, Elmsdale, Enfield, and Halifax Stanfield International Airport. Information on potential future routes and timetables will be available at the engagement events.

Public Engagement

We want to hear from you. Public engagement will take place in the fall of 2026 and will include both in-person and online opportunities to share feedback.

Ways to participate:

• Open houses: Attend one of five in-person drop-in sessions. Municipal staff and the project consultants will be available at the sessions to answer questions and hear your feedback.
• Virtual town halls: Join one of two 90-minute online sessions. They will cover the same information as the in-person open houses.
• Public Survey: We want to hear from you about the proposed transit service in East Hants. This 5-minute survey asks about your transportation needs, current travel habits, and interest in public transit. Take the survey
