Notice Public Information Meeting

The Municipality of East Hants will be holding a Public Information Meeting regarding the following three items:

PLN26-008 – Mapping Amendments – Lantz
Application from Zzap Consulting Inc. to amend the land use designation of PIDs 45332590 & 45332608 to the Medium Density Neighbourhood (MR) Designation and to rezone the same lands to the Townhouse (R2-T) Zone. The mapping amendments will allow for the development of approximately 24 townhouse units.

Motion C26(178) – Official Community Plan Amendment
Council proposal to adopt a new Municipal Planning Strategy policy that will require developers applying for a development agreements for multiple unit developments with more than 100 dwelling units to have two ingress/egress points to an arterial or collector street.

Motion C26(182) – Official Community Plan Amendment
Council proposal to adopt a new Municipal Planning Strategy policy and Subdivision Bylaw regulation that will enable places of worship/former places of worship to subdivide from cemeteries with reduced setback, area, and frontage requirements.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre, 15 Commerce Court, Elmsdale. Any changes to the date will be posted on the Municipal website and social media. The purpose of the meeting is to outline the proposals and respond to residents’ questions and comments. A final decision to approve or refuse the proposals will take place following a Public Hearing to be scheduled at a later date.
