New Online Digital Permit System Testing
East Hants is moving to online building permit applications and we need your help to test the new digital website. This is a chance for real users to try out the new system and help find any issues before it’s available to everyone.
The new online permitting system is being funded by the Federal Housing Accelerator Fund. The goal is to make the building permit process easier for everyone.
Permit applicants are responsible for ensuring the information submitted is correct and complete. Submissions with missing or incorrect information will be returned to the applicant to correct. Before you begin, make sure you have the following information:
- Floor Plans
- Building Elevations
- Plot Plan
- Cross Section
- Lot Grading Plan (where applicable)
- NSE On-Site Septic Approval (where applicable)
- NSPW or Municipal Driveway Approval (where applicable)
- Estimated Cost of Construction
- Applicant Contact Information
Once all the appropriate information has been submitted, plans will be reviewed by a Building Official and the applicant will be contacted regarding fee payment and next steps. After your Building Permit is issued, it is your responsibility to arrange for the mandatory inspections.
