Join the Police Advisory Committee

The Committee supports Council in working with the RCMP by holding regular discussions about policing in the Municipality and by helping set priorities, objectives, and goals for police services to ensure they reflect the community’s needs and values. We are currently seeking members for a 1-year term, with the possibility of an extension.
Background Information
- This Committee does not exercise jurisdiction relating to complaints, discipline, personnel conduct or the internal management of the RCMP
- The committee meets quarterly during daytime hours in person at the municipal offices in Elmsdale
- Meetings are held on Tuesday mornings for approximately 2 hours
- Members receive an honorarium
- Mileage for meetings can be claimed
- Each committee member is required to take an Oath of Office and submit a Criminal Records’ Check
