Wastewater Collection & Treatment

Wastewater is the mixture of “used’ water and materials that residents and businesses flush down drains, toilets, and sinks every day. This material travels from a serviced property and pumped through a series of pipes through the wastewater collection system to one of the Municipality’s wastewater treatment facilities.

East Hants operates wastewater collection and treatment services in the communities of Enfield, Elmsdale, Lantz, Milford, and Shubenacadie.  Approximately 1,850,000,000 litres of wastewater is treated annually across three treatment facilities located in the communities of Lantz, Milford, and Shubenacadie.
