Custodians – 2026/27 Winter Season – East Hants Sportsplex

The Municipality of East Hants is seeking Seasonal Custodians to join the East Hants Sportsplex team for the fall/winter season. Custodians will be responsible for cleaning and minor maintenance in a busy community facility and should have experience with cleaning methods, equipment, and procedures for large buildings. Candidates must be comfortable working in a child- and vulnerable-population-focused environment, able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperatures, and available for flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. Current WHMIS, CPR/First Aid, and biohazard training are required or must be obtained, along with satisfactory Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector, and Child Abuse Registry checks. We are recruiting Cooks for the fall/winter season at Roxies Café at the East Hants Sportsplex. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, customer service, and working in a busy, events-focused community facility. Cooks will prepare food in a commercial kitchen and occasionally assist with front-of-house customer service. Flexible availability, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends, is required. Experience and food handling certification are assets, with training available as needed. Casual and part-time positions are available at $20–$22/hour, depending on experience.

Facility Attendant – 2026/27 Winter Season – East Hants Sportsplex

The East Hants Sportsplex is seeking a flexible and physically capable Facility Attendant for the fall/winter season. Responsibilities include setting up and taking down equipment for events, moving nets and equipment during ice maintenance, preparing and cleaning dressing rooms, sweeping, mopping, emptying garbage, and completing other general labour duties. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work in varying temperatures, and have availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts. A clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check will be required.
