Operator – Water and Wastewater Services

The Municipality of East Hants is seeking a full-time Operator to join its Water and Wastewater Services team. This hands-on position will focus primarily on the operation and maintenance of the municipal water distribution system, including excavations, leak detection, installations, and the repair and maintenance of fire hydrants, water meters, valves, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 education, strong math skills, and experience or knowledge in water distribution, construction, or a related field. The role involves outdoor physical work in all weather conditions, rotational on-call evenings and weekends, emergency response, and confined-space work. A valid driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract are required. We are recruiting Cooks for the fall/winter season at Roxies Café at the East Hants Sportsplex. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, customer service, and working in a busy, events-focused community facility. Cooks will prepare food in a commercial kitchen and occasionally assist with front-of-house customer service. Flexible availability, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends, is required. Experience and food handling certification are assets, with training available as needed. Casual and part-time positions are available at $20–$22/hour, depending on experience.
