The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Manager of Recreation and Aquatics with the overall operation of the East Hants Aquatic Centre. Duties include program development, supervising and scheduling aquatics staff, ensuring OH&S compliance and conducting routine facility checks and maintaining various records on rental bookings, staff training and equipment/supply inventories.
What you can offer:
- Completion of a university degree in a Recreation Management or related field
- Minimum of 3 years related experience including 1-year experience in a supervisory role
- Current NLS pool option, Standard First Aid, Lifesaving Instructor, Swim For Life Instructor, National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiner and First Aid Instructor. Equivalent combination of education and experience combined with a willingness to obtain will be considered
- A demonstrated aptitude for guiding, motivating and leading a team towards achieving collective goals
- Excellent communication and presentation/facilitation skills
- Solid conflict management and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfort and proficiency navigating computer software

- Clear child abuse registry and criminal records checks
