East Hants’ population growth among highest in Nova Scotia

More people are calling East Hants home than ever before. The Municipality of East Hants saw an estimated 3.8% increase in population from July 2022 to June 2023, welcoming 966 new residents to its communities.¹ This rapid population increase doubled the growth rate from 1.91% in 2022 to 3.88% in 2023.¹ Statistics Canada also reported that over the previous 5-year period, the Municipality grew by an estimated 9.3% from 23,689 in 2019 to 25,882 in 2023.¹

East Hants saw the third-highest increase in population in the province, after Halifax Regional Municipality and Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
