Community Exit Ramp Challenge

East Hants non-profit community groups can earn grant funding by cleaning litter from the 100-series highway exit ramps leading into East Hants.

Held each spring and fall, the program supports up to 12 groups per year.
The approved 2026 grant amount is $750 per group.

Clean-Up Dates (Weekends Only)

Spring Session: April 18 – June 14
Fall Session: September 19 – November 15

2021 – 2025 Stats

  • 58 clean-ups completed
  • 6 exit ramps included
  • 5 ramps in Year 1
  • 6 ramps after the Lantz exit opened
  • 43 community groups participated
  • $35,000 in grant funding provided
  • 9,878 kg (9.88 tonnes / 21,777 lbs) of litter collected
