Fitness Programs

Fitness Fun – 50+ Fitness

Join Terri for a fun hour of low impact cardio with strength, balance and stretching movements to finish. All levels are welcome with modifications to benefit individual needs. This is a class designed to be social, fun and invigorating.


East Hants Sportsplex Todd Hunter Room | Mondays & Wednesdays | 10 am – 11 am | $6/class

Strength & Resistance – 50+ Fitness

Join Terri for a 45-minute strength class that focuses on building and maintaining muscle strength utilizing bodyweight, light dumbbells and resistance bands. Targeting all major muscle groups and improving overall fitness, this class is designed to be engaging and welcoming.

Yoga Flow – All Levels


Join Julia through a series of postures that can help build strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance and mental focus. Modifications are provided throughout the class allowing all to work at their own ability and comfort level. All levels Welcome.

Hatha Yoga

Terri will guide you in a gentle one-hour class focusing on strength, balance and flexibility through basic yoga movements and mindful breathing. All levels are welcome.

Basic Mat Pilates

A dynamic mat-based Pilates class focusing on core strength, breathing, posture alignment, and mobility. Includes stretching, a light cardio-style warm-up, and small equipment exercises for added challenge and support. Suitable for all levels with modifications provided. Bring your own mat.

Sport Programs

Stick & Puck Skating

Bring your own stick and puck and practice your shooting, passing and stick handling. Goalies welcome.
*Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult. Helmets & Gloves are mandatory (including adults). Scrimmages not permitted. NO SLAPSHOTS. Supervision and age restrictions must be adhered to.

Indoor Golf Driving Range

Book a timeslot to practice your swing and hit a bucket of balls. Bring your own clubs and clean shoes. Registration required – Space limited.

Pickleball

Fun evening of recreational pickleball. All levels welcome. Registration required.

Badminton

Fun evening of recreational badminton. All levels welcome. Equipment not provided. Registration required. Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Note: For programs taking place in schools, if school is cancelled, the program is cancelled.

Youth All Sorts of Sports (Ages 7-12)

Drop in for fun evening of unstructured intramural style activities where each week we play a new sport. All levels welcome. Registration required.

Instructive Sport Programs

Intro to Pickleball

A beginner level pickleball program designed to be accessible and inclusive of new players learning the sport. Facilitated by a level 1 certified pickleball coach, the sessions are taught through fun, inclusive activities, and lesson plans that focus on skill development and physical literacy rather than competition. The program is made up of four 2-hour sessions and equipment is provided.

East Hants Active Start (Ages 5-7)

A fun and interactive program which develops the Active Start and Fundamental principles of sport, running, jumping, throwing, all while learning new sports. Over 8 weeks, 8 sports will be focused on where the basic movement skills and coordination is taught, all while having fun and participating in games. Each week students are praised and given feedback on their development.

Arts & Crafts Programs

Crafty Creators

Join us and stop in for a fun and social crafting program, creating and designing various Arts & Crafts where each week provides something different! Supplies will be provided.

Youth Arts & Crafts Lessons Program

Our Arts & Crafts Youth Program is a creative, hands-on learning experience designed to inspire imagination, build confidence, and develop new artistic skills. Through weekly guided lessons, participants explore a wide range of materials and techniques—such as drawing, painting, sculpting, crafting, and much more!

Adult-Senior Arts & Crafts Classes

Our Arts & Crafts Program for Adults & Seniors offers a welcoming, hands-on creative experience designed to inspire self-expression and lifelong learning. Through guided weekly sessions, participants explore a variety of materials and techniques—including drawing, painting, clay, and crafting—at a comfortable and enjoyable pace. Whether you are rediscovering a favorite hobby or trying something new, this program provides a supportive environment to relax, connect with others, and develop your artistic skills.

Free Community Programs

Walk & Roll

Improve your health through walking! Join the Seniors Clinic at the Walk and Roll Program and walk the track at your own pace. Walkers are available to use at the program. All are welcome!

Run & Tumble

Run and Tumble is a drop-in group where kids can run, jump and play together in a safe and fun environment. Open to parents/caregivers and children under 5. Delivered by the East Hants Family Resource Centre in partnership with the Municipality of East Hants. Registration not required.

After School Turf Time

Get Active After School and stop in for free play!! Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by parent or guardian age 16+. Registration not required. No sport practices or private coaching.

Group Hikes

Join us outdoors this Spring for a series of group hikes throughout the trails of East Hants. These beginner level hikes take place on Easy to Moderate trail systems and are scheduled for an hour. Great for individuals or families seeking a physical and social activity to participate in! Registration & Waiver Required

Walking Track

Walk out of the elements at the East Hants Sportsplex indoor walking track free of charge. Track usage may be interrupted due to events and activities taking place on the turf.

In-Service Splash Camp @ East Hants Aquatic Centre (Ages 6-11)

No School? Come hang out with us and participate in fun games and activities! All camps are open to ages 6-11. Includes at least an hour of swimming.

Recreation Access Program

What is RecAccess? A funding program to help reduce barriers for you and your family to participate in East Hants recreation programming.

The Funding: Each member of a qualified household is eligible for:

  • 75% discounted fee on up to four registered recreation programs per year
  • 10 single entry passes to the East Hants Aquatic Centre

What is covered? Pre-registered aquatic and recreation programming offered by the Municipality of East Hants (i.e. group swim lessons, day camp).

Not covered: Membership fees, pool parties & group bookings, rentals or private/semi-private lessons.

Application: Ongoing. Applicants must reapply every year.
