Notice of Considerations – Bylaws

East Hants Council is considering approval of three Bylaws:

Bylaw P-1000-2 an Amendment to Bylaw P-1000, Dog Bylaw

The Council of the Municipality of East Hants is considering approval of Bylaw P-1000-2, an amendment to Bylaw P-1000. This Bylaw regulates responsible dog ownership within East Hants. Proposed amendments reflect the change to lifetime tags, and to provide better clarity in regards to barking dog complaints.

Bylaw P-1200-1 an Amendment to Bylaw P-1200, Lot Grading and Drainage Bylaw

The Council of the Municipality of East Hants is considering approval of Bylaw P-1200-1, an amendment to Bylaw P-1200. This Bylaw regulates lot grading and drainage for properties located in Growth Management Areas.

Bylaw A-300, Encroachment on Municipal Real Property Bylaw

The Council of the Municipality of East Hants is considering approval of Bylaw A-300, respecting encroachments on Municipal real property.

First readings were given to the proposed Bylaws at the Regular Meeting of Council held on February 25, 2026. Second and final readings of the Bylaws are scheduled to be considered at the Regular Meeting of Council to be held March 25, 2026.
