East Hants has been approved by Environment and Climate Change Canada to perform wastewater system maintenance work at the Lantz Lagoon. Regional wastewater customers are being asked to reduce wastewater flows to minimize environmental impact.

Lantz Lagoon Temporary Bypass Authorization
East Hants is applying for a temporary bypass authorization for the Lantz Lagoon, as a requirement by Environment and Climate Change Canada. East Hants is planning to perform wastewater system maintenance work from January 5 – 31, 2026. This work is necessary to keep the system running properly, and is being requested in case the work disrupts the treatment process and affects the quality of the water leaving the system Even with the bypass, the wastewater will still go through the treatment system.
This notice to inform the public of the application.
