February 13, 2026

East Hants has completed a review of our water utility rates, establishing updated rates for at least the next three years. This is the first review since 2017, with the last rate increase having taken effect on April 1, 2019.

The new rates were approved by the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board and came into effect on April 1, 2026.

The updated rates are designed to be more reflective of the current costs associated with treating and distributing safe, reliable drinking water to our valued customers.

These changes support the long-term sustainability of our water system, including infrastructure upgrades, ongoing maintenance, and dependable service for our community.

We encourage customers to review the updated rates and learn how they may impact you.
