Recreational Basketball

Come learn the skills of the game and enjoy fun, non-competitive scrimmages. Cost: $80

Where: Uniacke District School Gym
When: Saturdays from October 14 – December 9

Times & Age Groups:

  • Ages 4-5: 9–10 a.m.
  • Ages 6-8: 10-11 a.m.
  • Ages 9-12: 11am–12 p.m.

Ball Hockey

Non-competitive, unstructured play for fun ball hockey! Unsportsmanlike behavior from players and/or parents will not be tolerated. Cost: $3. Registration required – on-site cash drop-in NOT accepted.

Uniacke District School Gym:

  • Mondays starting October 16
  • Under 9/Under 11 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Under 13/ Under 15 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Enfield District School Gym:

  • Mondays starting October 16
  • Under 9/Under 11 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Under 13/Under 15 6:30– 7:30 p.m.

Come try Pickleball – the fastest-growing sport in North America! All welcome. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost: $3

Senior Walk & Social

Go for a walk on the track and join us afterwards for a tea or coffee, socializing, various activities and occasional special guests. No registration required.

When: First Tuesday of each month starting October 3
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.


Art Exploration with Quentin Syliboy

Five-week program exploring different mediums of art such as acrylics, pastels, drawling, and watercolors. Cost: $35 -space is limited.

Crochet Fundamentals Through Granny Squares

Learn the fundamentals of Crocheting through granny squares. Over eight weeks, participants will learn pattern basics, material choice, four foundation stitches and how to apply them to create different granny square types. Cost: $50 – space is limited.

Join instructor AJ weekly or whenever you can make it for an evening of socializing, pattern & supply sharing, stitching advice and more! Must register per night. Cost: $3

Intro to Dramatic Arts

This program is for youth who are interested in the dramatic arts. Under the instruction of local theatre director, Annelise Corbett, participants will build their confidence as they take part in improvisation and drama games. They will work independently and collaboratively to learn a variety of acting and performance techniques. No experience is necessary. Cost: $80

Pitch it to us!

We are looking for individuals or organizations who have specialized skills or training to deliver programs in our communities.

Program Topics such as:

  • Arts, Crafts and Music (e.g. Painting, guitar lessons)
  • Sports (e.g. ball hockey, rec leagues)
  • Recreation Programs (e.g. play programs, youth leadership)
  • Fitness (e.g. tai chi, yoga)
  • General Interest (e.g. photography, birding)

Withdrawing from Programs

The Municipality will issue a full refund to the client for the full amount of a payment received for a program (swim lessons, day camps, etc.) if notice of request to withdraw from a recreation or aquatics program is received a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the start date of the program.

A refund of 50% will be issued if request to withdraw is received within seven (7) days of the start date of the program. No refund will be issued on or after the start date of a program. The request must be made via email to recreation@easthants.ca

If a program is cancelled by the Municipality of East Hants, credit will be issued to the clients account and, if requested, the credit may be paid out by cheque. Please allow 4-5 weeks for processing.
