The Department of Parks, Recreation & Culture offers various types of recreation programming.
Senior Socials
Drop-in for a tea or coffee, socialize, various activities and occasional special guests
First Tuesday of Each Month starting October 4 at the East Hants Aquatic Centre Community Room
Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Cost: FREE
Registration is not required
Crochet Fundamentals
Learn the fundamentals of crocheting through granny squares. Participants will learn pattern basics, material choice, four foundation stitches and how to apply them to create different granny square types. Supplies Provided.
When: Thursdays – Beginning April 6

Zumba
Zumba With Melany! Have fun exercising through low and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie burning dance total body fitness party!

Badminton
Drop-In recreational Community Badminton
All are welcome. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Do you have a program you would like to deliver to the community?
Pitch it to us!
We are looking for individuals or organizations who have specialized skills or training to deliver programs in our communities.
Program Topics such as:
- Arts, Crafts and Music (e.g. Painting, guitar lessons)
- Sports (e.g. ball hockey, rec leagues)
- Recreation Programs (e.g. play programs, youth leadership)
- Fitness (e.g. tai chi, yoga)
- General Interest (e.g. photography, birding)

Withdrawing from Programs
Municipality of East Hants will issue full program credit to client accounts if notice of request to withdraw from a program is received a minimum of 7 days prior to the start of the program. If a client wishes to withdraw from a registered program the request can be made in person at the East Hants Aquatic Centre, or via email at recreation@easthants.ca Clients requesting withdrawal will be required to fill out a Request for Withdrawal form.
If a program is cancelled by the Municipality of East Hants, credit will be issued to the clients account and, if requested, the credit may be paid out by cheque. Please allow 4-5 weeks for processing.
