Notice of Public Information Meetings

April 25, 2025


The Municipality of East Hants will be holding three Public Information Meetings in May on the following topics:

1. Subdivision Bylaw Amendments
Proposal to amend the Municipal Subdivision Bylaw to require stormwater management plans for all tentative subdivision plans including private and public roads in unserviced areas of East Hants.

    2. Amendments to Bylaw P-1200, Lot Grading and Drainage
    Proposal to amend the Bylaw to require a lot grading and drainage plan for all lots up to a maximum of 1.2 hectares (3 acres), where no Municipal services are provided.

    3. Redesignation & Rezoning, Belnan

    Kelgreg Enterprises Ltd. has applied to re-designate and rezone a portion of lands identified as PID 45086113 & 45086097 from Rural Use (RU) to Country Residential (CR) for the purpose of enabling low density residential development.

    There will be three chances to attend the Public Information Meetings:

    • Monday, May 5, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Kennetcook Fire Hall, 32 Martin Walsh Road, Kennetcook
    • Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre, 15 Commerce Court, Elmsdale
    • Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Mount Uniacke Royal Canadian Legion, 18 Veterans Lane, Mount Uniacke, basement entrance

    Please Note: Item 3 will ONLY be dealt with at the meeting on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre.

    The purpose of these meetings is to outline the proposals and respond to residents’ questions and comments. A final decision to approve or refuse the amendments will take place at a later date.
