TAKE NOTICE that the Planning and Development Department for the Municipality of East Hants is considering the following proposal:

Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw Amendment, Milford

In preparation for the disposal of the  East Hants swimming pool in Milford, East Hants Council has accepted a bid to purchase the Milford pool from ATL Dairy Automation Ltd. As part of the bid, Council has authorized staff to proceed with the designation change and rezoning of the Institutional Use (IU) Zoned portion of 2359 Highway 2 (PID 45148244), Milford to the Rural Use (RU) Designation and the Rural Use (RU) Zone. Changing the designation and zone will permit the land to be used for agricultural related uses, including but not limited to the fabrication and repair of farm equipment and rental and retail services related to agriculture.

This is a preliminary notice intended to inform the public of consideration of the proposal. Approval by Municipal Council at a public hearing is required before the proposal may proceed. An advertisement will be published at a later date indicating the time, date, and location of the hearing and any related public meetings.
