Hours: Monday to Friday 6 a.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Splash pad hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

Opened in 2020, The East Hants Aquatic Centre is designed so that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy it. Its close proximity to the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre aligns well with local programming offered by the Municipality, the Colchester-East Hants Public Library and Nova Scotia Public Health.

The facility has many areas to enjoy, including:

Two separate pools:

– Six-lane, 25-metre lap pool (up to 3.2 m/10.5 feet deep)

– Leisure pool with spray features and ramp access (up to 1.1 m/3.6 feet deep)

Additional features:

– A lazy river resistance moving-water pool

– Fully accessible hot tub with a capacity of 19 people

– Waterslide

– Climbing wall

– Women’s and men’s change rooms

– Universal change room

– Diving board

– Reception, administration, lifeguard area, staff and building support spaces

– Community room capable of holding up to 50 people

– Kitchenette adjacent to the multi-purpose room

– Public lobby and a pool viewing area

– Outdoor splash park

The aquatic centre was designed by an integrated design team led by MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects in association with TEAL Architects+Planners. Bird Construction led the construction of a facility that is a leader in accessibility, quality and energy efficiency. It is owned and operated by the Municipality of East Hants.
