Casual Recreation Program Attendant(s)
Location: Elmsdale, NS
We are accepting applications for casual Recreation Program Attendants to support sport and recreation programs such as Ball Hockey, Badminton, or Art Based Programming within the community. If you are an enthusiastic, reliable, and organized self-starter interested in working for your community in recreation programming, we want to hear from you!
Recreation Program Attendants are responsible for support and supervision during programming, the set-up and take-down of program equipment, ensuring program areas are tidy and free of barriers, and promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all. Recreation Program Attendants are also responsible to sign-in participants, report program numbers, as well as other administrative tasks required to support the program.
Qualifications:
• Experience leading and planning recreation programs is preferred
• Experience working or volunteering with all ages, (children, youth and adults) in a recreation setting is preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, problem solving, and conflict management skills
• Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
• High Five Training would be an asset
• Clean and current child abuse registry and criminal record checks required
Programs may be offered in various locations for daytime, evening, weekend, and afterschool programming across the Municipality. Please indicate availability, ability to travel, and any preference for specific communities when applying.
Hours: 3-15 hours/week, as needed
Hourly rate: $15.00/hour
