Casual Arts and Crafts Instructor

Location: Various locations within East Hants, NS

As part of our Pitch-A-program initiative, The Municipality of East Hants is seeking applications for program instructors to provide a diverse range of recreation opportunities within the community. We are looking for casual Arts and Crafts Instructors to join our team. In collaboration with the Community Recreation Coordinator, the Arts and Crafts Instructor plans and facilitates engaging arts and crafts programming for children, youth and adults.

Responsibilities: The Arts and Crafts Instructor is a reliable, enthusiastic, self-starter, responsible to plan and implement programming in a safe and inclusive environment. The Arts and Crafts Instructor reports to and liaises with the Community Recreation Coordinator for any equipment and supplies required and is responsible to set up and ensure the program space is suitable, tidy and barrier free for participants.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated expertise in arts and crafts instruction
• Experience planning and leading specialized programming for children, youth and/or adults in a recreational setting preferred
• Current Emergency First Aid, or willingness to obtain an asset
• Clean and current child abuse registry and criminal record checks required

Programs may be offered in the East Hants Aquatic Centre Community Room, or in schools and community halls in various locations across East Hants. Please specify location(s) of interest in application.

Hours: 5-10 hours p/week
Hourly rate: $25/hour
