Consideration of Bylaw P-1000-1, an Amendment to Bylaw to P-1000 Dog Bylaw

Take notice that the Council of the Municipality of the District of East Hants hereby proposes to consider Bylaw P-1000-1, an amendment to Bylaw P-1000 Dog Bylaw.

The intent of the bylaw is to license and regulate dogs within the Municipality. The bylaw updates the current Dog Bylaw by expanding the definitions section and expanding sections regarding dog attacks, impoundment, fierce or dangerous dogs, dogs running at large, and other minor housekeeping amendments.

First reading was given to the proposed bylaw amendments at the Regular Meeting of Council held October 23, 2019. Second and final reading of the bylaw is scheduled to be considered at the Regular Meeting of Council to be held on November 27, 2019.
