The application includes a request for an additional 100 residential units\, including more apartment units and townhomes. Also included is a request for a self-storage building and townhomes with 16ft frontages. \n\nOfficial Community Plan Amendments – Accessory Dwelling Units \nAmendments to the East Hants Land Use Bylaw to amend the minimum lot area requirements and the design requirements for Accessory Dwelling Units. \n\nOfficial Community Plan Amendments – Stormwater Management \nAmendments are proposed to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Subdivision Bylaw to require stormwater management plans for all tentative plans of subdivision including private and public roads in unserviced areas of East Hants. \n\nThe Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday\, September 24\, 2025 beginning at 7:45 p.m. at the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre\, 15 Commerce Court\, Elmsdale. Do you have leftover cleaners\, solvents and chemicals you want to dispose of? \nBring them to one of our annual fall Residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) mobile drop-off and Paper Shredding events. \nThe following outlines how to bring your materials to us: \n\nEnsure all containers are sealed securely.\nTransport materials in the trunk of your car or back of your truck.\nBring materials in open-topped boxes (we can return these to you).\nPlease make sure all propane tanks have the valves closed and that there is plenty of ventilation in your vehicle.\nWe recommend you wear gloves when handling products.\nFollow traffic signs and instructions at the mobile events to ensure the safety of everyone.\n\nThe following will not be accepted at the events: \n\nExplosives\, fireworks\, and ammunition\nEmpty paint cans (please put out for regular collection)\nMedical waste\nPCB containing products & radioactive waste\nCommercial waste or any unknown waste (anything without a label)\n\nPlease follow traffic signs and instructions at the events to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
