Covid Response

COVID-19 has impacted our entire community. The Municipality of East Hants is working to support residents and businesses negatively affected financially by this global pandemic. Those capable of paying their water bills on or before their due date are encouraged to do so.

East Hants Water Utility

For East Hants Water Utility customers, the Municipality is implementing the following measures:

  • No interest will be charged on outstanding balances beginning April 1st, 2020 until September 30th, 2020.
  • No water utility customers will have their water disconnected due to non-payment from April 1st, 2020 to September 30th, 2020.
  • In order to keep customers informed, the Water Utility will continue to issue water bills and reminder notices. We will not issue water disconnection notices due to non-payment during this period.

Customers who require support at this time are encouraged to contact our Collection Officer as well as use the interest relief option to help ease their burden. Those capable of paying their water bills on or before their due date are encouraged to do so.
