Shubenacadie Tinsmith Museum & Gift Shop

The Workshop used by Watson and Harry Smith in the late 1800’s has been preserved to appear just how it had while they worked to create the steel bottom milk and cream cans. Smith started with a community hardware store providing many of the needs of residents of the community. The Village of Shubenacadie is a stopping point between Halifax and Truro, nestled against the Shubenacadie River.

Local crafters create wonderful handmade crafts to be enjoyed by locals as well as visitors. We have turned part of the main floor residents into a retail shop showcasing these handmade crafts.
