*Source Separated Garabge - waste that is not otherwise recyclable, compostable, reusable or divertible; includes diapers, floor sweepings, broken toys, clothing, furniture, non-recyclable plastics (styrofoam), and products made of mixed material
**Mixed Garbage - combination of any acceptable garbage material with material which is recyclable, redeemable, compostable, banned or divertible; examples include wood, cardboard and garbage bags; garbage and recyclables combined; garbage and C&D
***Separated Construction & Demolition (C&D) - separated at the source or separated by the hauler at the Waste Management Centre; includes wood and shingles (materials that can be recycled); this material is not buried
****Mixed Construction & Demolition (C&D) - any combination of wood, guproc, insulation, shingles, siding, vapour barrier and other aceptable C&D material
Loads are considered to be mixed if they contain 10% or more contamination by volume. More than 10% contamination in a C&D load by waste, recyclables, or compostables will be charged the Mixed rate.
