Business Limits
All material must be curbside by 7:00 am. Materials cannot be set out prior to 7:00 pm the evening before your collection day.
There is a maximum of 10 bags of garbage and 12 bags of recyclables and 2 organics carts per collection. Maximum bag weight it 75 lbs (34kgs). Recyclables and green organics carts are collected on the same collection day. Garbage is collected on alternate weeks. Cardboard must be flattened, cut or folded into 1' X 2' X 3' bundles using tape or string.
Paper products must be kept separate from recyclable containers. All paper products must have any metal fasteners or plastic bindings removed. All recyclable containers must be clean and dry. All caps must be removed but it is not necessary to remove labels.
In warm seasons please set your organics cart out for collection every 2 weeks to avoid odors and flies. During the colder seasons, only place your cart out when it is full or if it is approaching the weight limit of 100 kgs (220 lbs). Wrap meat and other messy foods in paper to help keep the cart clean and to help prevent material from freezing to the sides. You may wish to crumple up some newspaper in the bottom of your cart year round to help keep it clean. No stryofoam, plastics, "biodegradable" plastic bags, metal or glass in your organics cart. Do not place ashes from your stove or fireplace in your cart.
Winter Reminders - Materials set too close to the road or sidewalk could be buried by snowfall or the snowplow and could be missed. Residents with garbage boxes must maintain shovelled access to the box. Collection service may be delayed when driving conditions are poor.
