Christmas Tree Collection takes place each year during January. Discarded trees must at the curbside by 7:00 am on your regular collection day. Trees must be free of tree stand, tree bag, ornaments, lights, tinsel, icicles, etc. The 2007 Christmas Tree Collection will take place from Monday January 5th - Friday January 9th, 2009.
Also keep in mind that all gift wrap goes in your regular garbage. Broken ornaments should be wrapped in paper and placed in your regular garbage. Metal candy and cookie boxes are generally not recyclable and may be held over for Scrap Metal Collection in the Spring.
Did you know that if every household in East Hants produces 2 bags of gift wrap, the waste would fill approximately 11 classrooms to the ceiling? Everyone is strongly encouraged to use reusable gift bags and boxes.
