    • The average Canadian throws away about two (2) kilograms of waste per day.

    •  Litter can take anywhere from a few weeks to thousands of years to decompose.

    •  Nova Scotia reduced the number of landfills in the province from more than 100 (many which openly burned garbage) in the 1970's to less than 20 sites today.
