Refrigerators

When disposing of a refrigerator, set it out at curbside on your regular recycling collection day. It is not necessary to have any fluids/gases drained prior to collection. This will be done at the Landfill site.

It is important to remember to remove the refrigerator door, or tape or tie it shut securely if you are placing it curbside for Municipal collection. Otherwise it is a significant hazard to children in the area as they could become trapped inside and suffocate.

If you have further questions on this collection, please contact the Solid Waste Hotline at 1-888-873-3332.

Note: Stove and other household appliances or "white goods" are accepted at curbside every recycling collection day. Only one applicance per collection please.
