Electronics Recycling

Beginning February 1st, 2009, the second phase of the electronics recyclaing program will come into effect. The following is a detailed list of electronic items now banned from landfills in Nova Scotia:

  • televisions
  • computers - desktop, laptop, and notebooks (incl. accessories like keyboard, mouse, cables)
  • printers - desktop, portable, label/barcode/card printers
  • desktop fax machines
  • camera dock printers
  • monitors - standalone, video display, professional displays, closed circuit
  • portable stereos - tape players, cd players
  • radios, audio recorders, headphones, MP3 players, voice recorders
  • digital camers and video camcorders
  • car stereo amplifiers and equalizers, speakers and in-dash CD players
  • Home Theatre In A Box (HTB) systems
  • VCRs & DVD players
  • clock radios
  • digital cable & satellite cable equipment
  • speakers, amplifiers, receivers, data projectors, and similar audio/video systems
  • non-cellular telephones including wire phones, cordless telephones and telephone answering machines.
