The Municipality of East Hants, being the largest of the four Municipal units in Hants County, is one of the fastest growing rural municipalities in Nova Scotia. The growth rate during the latest Statistics Canada period (2001-2006) was 2.7% compared to the Provincial increase of 0.6%.
