Solid Waste Curbside Collection Changes

Changes Effective April 1st

Beginning April 1st, 2012 Miller Waste Systems will be providing the curbside collection of solid waste across the Municipality.  In addition to a change in collections companies, the following highlights additional changes:

1. All materials will be collected on one (1) day every two-weeks.  This means you will have collection one week, and the next week nothing will need to be put out for collection.  This option provided cost savings for the Municipality over the 5 year contract in comparison to other proposals received.
   
   
2. Recycling bag limits are increasing. Beginning April 1st you will be able to put 8 bags/bundles of recyclables out per collection (up from 6 bags).
   
   
3. Collection route changes.  There will be route changes for a number of households.  Your new collection schedules and a newsletter outlining details of the changes will be delivered door-to-door in March.  Please read this information over carefully and call the Solid Waste Hotline at 1-888-873-3332 if you have any questions or do not receive a new schedule by March 31st, 2012.
