Saturday May 19th:

Plant and Bake Sale: at Northfield Community Hall, 1180 Northfield Road from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Great variety of perennials and shrubs with proceeds to St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

Milford Coffeehouse at Milford Lantz United Church, Milford at 6:30 p.m. Triple feature with Catherine and Fred Lawrence, Freda and Friends, and the Gospellettes. Good will offering only. For information call 883-7189.

Dance at the Nine Mile River Community Centre from 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. Music by Grover.

Thursday May 24th:

Dime Auction at Northfield Community Hall, 1180 Northfield Road with viewing at 6 p.m. and auction at 7 p.m. Great selection of new and gently used items with proceeds to St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

Friday May 25th:

Flea Market and Plant Sale at St. James Anglican Church, Shubenacadie from 9 a.m. – 2p.m. Admission is 25 cents.

Saturday May 26th:

Country Garden Club Plant Sale at the Elmsdale Fire Hall from 8:30 – 11 a.m.

Village Garden Club Plant and Bake Sale at the Rawdon Gold Mines Seniors Hall, 2886 Highway 14 from 9 – 11 a.m. Win a painting by Angelika DiBari.

Bake Sale, Flea Market and Silent Auction at Enfield Fire Hall from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Proceeds go to the Cancer Relay.

Elmsdale Legion CARE actors present “On The Air” at the Elmsdale Legion. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Full three course dinner. Tickets are $25. For more information call 883-8922. Proceeds go to East Hants Ground Search and Rescue. Caution: Some adult content.

Saturday June 2nd:

Plant and Book Sale/Bake Sale - at the Dawson Dowell Park building in Maitland (Highway 215) 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday June 6th:

Taoist Tai Chi Demo and Open House with Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism!  7:00pm - 9:00pm at the Enfield Legion.  Attendees will be taught several moves of the Taoist Tai Chi set.  No special equipment required just comfortable clothes for exercise and rubber soled shoes.  For more info contact Gord Davis , 401-3390, gmonster222000@yahoo.ca

Seafood Chowder Lunch: 11:00am - 3:00pm at the Shubenacadie Fire Hall.  Take Out Available.  $8.00 for bowl of chowder, roll and beverage.  All proceeds go to support the Shubenacadie Fire Department.

Sunday June 10th:

Canoe to the Sea:  on the Shubenacadie River!  Registration at 9:00am—10:00am Marathon start at 10:30am at the Shubenacadie Grounds Wharf.  Cost :$40.00 per person.  The course will go from Shubenacadie to Maitland.  Boat Divisions include: Open Class Pro-boat C-2 & C-1, Men's & Women's Mixed Stock Canoe; Men's & Women's Mixed Recreational Canoe and Men's & Women's Kayak.  For More info contact Allan Billard at 449-0581.

Annual 4-day festival celebrating heritage & culture in East Hants. Experience life by our first settlers including re-enactments, musket drills, sunset ceremonies (with cannon) with the 84th Highland Regiment of Foot and more. Friday June 22nd & Saturday June 23rd:

Mount Uniacke Annual Fire Fighters Fireworks, Parade and Fair:  Rides and the canteen will be in full swing Friday evening beginning at 6 PM and will end at 10 PM followed by amazing fireworks display.  On Saturday, the festivities will begin with the parade at 11 AM which will start at the school and travel along Highway #1 to the Fire Hall.  Rides and canteen will start at 12 noon and will end at 6 PM.  The night will end with the dance which runs from 9 PM - 1 AM.

Saturday June 23rd:

Dinner Theatre Production of “On The Air” Anne Teak’s Road Show at the Shubenacadie Legion at 6:30 p.m. Full three course dinner. Tickets are $25 with proceeds to the Shubenacadie Legion. Call Sue Smith at 758-5357
