EAST HANTS IS BEST OF THE BEST
Municipality selected for national award from 200+ submissions
Elmsdale, NS (October 24, 2011) - The Municipality of East Hant’s Department of Economic & Business Development has been awarded a 2011 Marketing Canada Award from the Economic Developers Association of Canada. The award-winning advertising campaign, titled From A to B, was selected from 206 submissions across Canada.
JD MacCulloch, Director of Economic & Business Development for the Municipality, said that the advertising campaign is one of several initiatives to attract investment to East Hants. “New branding, a new website, improvements to the business parks, and emphasis on an ‘open for business’ approach is helping us attract new companies to East Hants,” he said. “While the ad campaign is only one aspect of the exciting work we’re doing here, it is certainly rewarding to have our efforts recognized nationally.”
The simple but clever ad focuses on the tagline, “There are no shortcuts to success in business, but occasionally there are thoroughfares.” It goes on to talk about how the municipality is perfectly positioned to help businesses achieve success.
The advertising campaign was created and executed by Kevin Fidgen of Stir Creative, an advertising and marketing agency based in Halifax, under the direction of the Municipality’s Economic and Business Development team.
“The real prize is the national attention that an award like this brings to our area,” said John Patterson, Warden for the Municipality of East Hants. “East Hants is a great place to live and do business. Our Economic and Business Development team now has an award-winning marketing campaign that reflects that concept.”
